Where an ordinary mala repeats one kind of bead, a siddha mala gathers many. These siddha mala sets bring together rudraksha of different mukhis, often one to fourteen, and sometimes add a Gauri Shankar and a Ganesh bead, usually set with small metal caps and spacers.
In devotional tradition the combination is seen as honouring all the deities and grahas linked with each mukhi at once. Because they hold rarer beads, these malas are generally worn on special days or kept for worship rather than used for daily japa counting. Smaller combination sets, such as a few chosen mukhis on a bracelet or kantha, are also made for those who follow a particular recommendation.
With so many beads involved, ask for a bead-wise identification report and check each mukhi against it before buying siddha mala sets. Inspect the capping and stringing. Store the mala in a padded box, keep it away from water and perfume, and get it checked by a jeweller if any cap loosens.
