Some herbs are hard to enjoy as a powder. Neem is fiercely bitter and ashwagandha has an earthy smell that many people dislike, so single herb tablets and capsules offer a way to take one plant without facing the taste.

Each product here has one named herb as its active ingredient. That may be the dried, powdered plant part or a concentrated extract, and the label should say which, along with the amount per unit. Look past the name on the front to the ingredient panel, where binders, fillers or the capsule shell material also appear.

Extracts can be much stronger than plain powder, so the milligrams on a label cannot be compared directly with a spoonful of churna. Ask a qualified Ayurvedic doctor whether a given herb and form suit you, and confirm the manufacturer's licence number, batch and expiry before buying. Keep the bottle closed and dry.

अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न

How do powder capsules differ from extract capsules?
Powder capsules hold the ground plant part, while extract capsules contain a concentrated preparation drawn out with water or another solvent. The pack should state which one it is.
Why pick a capsule over a churna?
Mostly for convenience and taste, since a capsule is easy to carry and hides bitter or strong-smelling herbs.
Does single-herb mean nothing else is inside?
It means one herb is the active ingredient; binders, fillers or a shell are usually present too and are listed on the panel.
Where do I find the amount per capsule?
Look at the composition section of the label, which usually gives milligrams per tablet or capsule.
