Not every home has room for a full mandir, and that is where devotional frames earn their place. A framed Sai Baba above the study table, a Lakshmi-Ganesh image at the shop counter, a small Balaji on the car dashboard or a Ram Darbar in the hallway lets a family keep its deity close without a separate altar.

Frames range from printed photographs behind glass to gold-foil Tanjore-style art, raised metal plates and engraved wooden panels. Some carry a mantra, the Gayatri or Hanuman Chalisa, beside the image. Sizes run from palm-sized desk frames to large wall pieces for a puja room.

Choose devotional frames that suit the light in the room, since glass can glare under a tube light. Hang them at or above eye level, wipe the glass with a dry cloth rather than spraying cleaner near gold-foil work, and replace a faded print with respect, many families immersing the old one or giving it to a temple.

अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न

Can a devotional frame be worshipped like an idol?
Yes, many families offer flowers, a diya and incense before a framed image, treating it with the devotion they would show a murti.
Where should I hang a deity frame?
At or above eye level, on a clean wall, ideally not facing a bathroom door. Many people prefer the east or north wall.
How do I clean a gold-foil frame?
Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid liquid cleaners, which can seep under the glass and damage the foil.
What should I do with an old or damaged frame?
Remove it respectfully; many families immerse the image or hand it to a temple rather than discarding it with rubbish.
